Ski holiday: winter adventures in Funes

In the winter months the Funes valley and the mountain landscapes of the Dolomites are deeply snowed. You will spend your holiday at the Unterschnothof at an altitude of 1.200 metres a.s.l. The farm is surrounded by glittering snow fields and snowed woods. During a winter walk in the open air the white peaks of the Odle group represent an impressive background in front of a deep blue sky. The winter in Funes will welcome you with a great variety of free time activities. You can choose among different guided ski tours in the Dolomites and funny walks with winter shoes, which cross the snowed high plateaus of the Alp. During these tours you will enjoy wonderful panorama views over the Isarco valley and the Odle peaks.

Downhill fun for adults and children in winter at Funes

Around 20 minutes driving from Unterschnothof there is the ski area Bressanone/Plose, a wide winter sport area with excellent ski runs. 40 kilometres at all levels of difficulty will satisfy all your desires during your ski holiday in the Isarco valley. In this ski area there is the longest downhill in South Tyrol, with a length of nine kilometres from the top of the mountain till the bottom of the valley. A quick and safe transport through the whole ski arena is granted thanks to high modern ski lifts. In many ski inns and alpine restaurants you will taste South Tyrolean delicacies, while the big sunny terraces will invite you to enjoy a relaxing break. The Kinderpark in the ski area Bressanone/Plose was originally created for our young guests. Here qualified ski teachers and helpers take actually care of them with ski and snowboard lessons.

Ski holiday in the Isarco valley: cross-country ski and luge fun

For new sensations far away from the downhill everyday life you can choose among a lot of well prepared cross-country ski tracks and luge runs in the whole Funes valley. Along the 12 km long ski track at the Würzjoch you will enjoy wonderful panorama views over the Dolomites. Moreover also the double prepared ski tracks on the Funes and Zanser Alp invite to take part to an excursion in the snowed landscape. The “RudiRun” in the ski area Bressanone/Plose is a funny luge run for the whole family. This is the longest luge run in South Tyrol whose starting point can be easily reached by bubble lift. 15 kilometres to go down till the bottom of the valley. Further luge runs can be found at the Gampen Alm and the Geisler Alm.
